Some of my favorite conversations with Scout occur at bedtime. She has tired head and her thoughts are funny to me. Like, last night we were reading a book about chickens and eggs. Anyway, she got really sad and was concerned people were eating the eggs in the book. She said she didn't want them "hurt." I thought, oh great, I've got a vegan on my hands. But, I told her it was ok because chickens make so many eggs they can share with people. She bought it, and we avoided crying.
Later, we were reading the Polar Express. Scout is so pumped about Christmas. She wants snow on her birthday and Christmas. But, what was the funniest to me is she told me, at the end of a long list of toy "hopes" that she hopes she gets a DONKEY. I totally laughed at her. She just looked at me like, what?
After some Q&A I realized she was talking about a like fuzzy/furry stuffed donkey. Which actually, is still sort of funny. I mean, a donkey?
