Today Was One Of My Motherhood Highlights

Because....I found Drop in Day Care !!! : This place is genius! I used it for the first time today. I felt a little guilty dropping them off to their "doom" while I went shopping for Brooke's birthday party accessories, but I knew I couldn't get stuff done with the two girls with me.

I was absolutely peaceful as I slowly toured Target (except for the other mothers who brought their crying kids!). BUT, the BEST part was when I picked them up: They were SO Happy! Scout was telling me about great lunch, and the great play rooms, and the dark movie room. Brooke was happily playing with the block table. Scout told me that Brooke spent most of her time taking care of the babies. heh.

I used groupon.com to get the initial $30 fee waved, so it ends up being $10/ hour for both kids to have a ton of fun without me. Money well spent! Luckily, I had already pre-paid my coupon a few months ago, so they whole day was free today.

In other news, Scout has completely learned to swim. She swims all over the pool unassisted. It all happened because I had a couple of her classmates over to swim, and she trashed the floaties a week prior as she explained, "I want to be able to swim by myself when my friends are here."

And, she did. She was swimming the doggy paddle all on her own, but once her friends arrived there was one little girl who could swim under water. As soon as Scout witnessed one of her classmates submerged just as we had been encouraging her to do, BAM....she started swimming with her head in the water and her "eyes open" as she tells it.

Brooke turns 2 tomorrow, so I'll post some photos from that event later.
