And in honor of the summer solstice, I will post some updates....
Mostly about Scout...
Off the top of my head...
I weighed her at Petsmart on the dog scale (after Waylon the Boxer) and she rang in at 37lbs. I feel like that is heafty, but what do I know? I mean, I'm like 6 times that figure. Anyway, I think I can move her to a booster seat in the car at like 40lbs, but really I haven't done a lick of research on that, just a rumor at this point. We'll see what happens there.
Scout is officially out of day care as of 2 weeks ago. I kept her all last week, and my mom and dad worked complementary schedules to keep her all this week for me since I had to go to a week-long training for school. I'm so thankful my parents were able to take care of the Scout for us.
I can report that watching a 2 1/2 year old is like SO much better that keeping an 18month old like I did last summer. Amazing the difference. She can entertain herself with toys, dolls, books and colors. She can watch TV. She can go to the bathroom on the toilet (mostly), and she can pretty much have tiny conversations. Oh how I like babies to be over 2 years old. She does well in the pool too. Today we hung out in there for like 45 mins. She has learned to kick her feet, blow bubbles in the water, and she's working on her coordinating her arms with the two aforementioned skills. She's not too shabby for her age.
Oh and finally, we've incorporated the "Lap-Sit, Story-Time" at the public library into our mother-daughter repertoire (I sort of got corned into it when I ran into my school librarian there and she had us sign up). We go once a week and listen to the odd lady read the stories and sing songs. I absolutely have internal laughter and inner-dialogue the entire time I'm there because I just can't believe I'm dorking it up at the library story time. But, when you have nothing but time in your week with a small child, I suppose a 45 min section of lap-sit is just what the doctor ordered.

The librarian "corned" you into it? Gross.
Scout doesn't know how lucky she is to have you as a mom. ;)
you weighed her at petsmart...awesome.
LOve the update. Hilarious. I can see you in my head at the library. I am guessing you are writing the little notes to people like we did at the peer retreat. I would love to read a post about your inner thoughts!
I love that you weighed her at Pet Smart! Awesome updates on the happenings of the fam! :)
Pets Mart. Awesome. She's so BIG!
Hooray for self sufficiency!
