Birthday Pressure

What the heck am I doing for Scout's birthday? I'm so lame that I pretty much just am going to throw out a cake with family at the house. I keep telling myself...she doesn't know anything...she's only 3.

She has requested a "castle bounce house" to which I told her, uh, no.
Then she asked for a "cake with candles", and I told her, uh, yes.

Then, I'm thinking...
Maybe I should bring home some chincillas and bunnies from work and let her "hold them." Sort of like a makeshift petting zoo.  But, man, that is a pain and it is dirty and the hair.....I'm thinking I really don't want to do that even though she'd like it.

Maybe we could go to McDonald's for her birthday.  I always thought those were cool.  Hmmmmm....does anyone do that anymore?  Cake, party hats and happy meals? Is that stupid?

Maybe ... ?? Suggestions for a non-creative, low-budget, unmotivated mother of an almost-3 year old?

Addition to this post: I'm most likely going to just do a home family cake party. I like to keep it low.

i think mcdonalds is a fabulous idea. better than the petting zoo bc that way you wont have to clean up afterwards. just hit it an quit it. or what about one of those indoor play ground things - i went to a bday party there once, that was fun.

Hey Ro - I LOVED to have my b-day part at McD's when I was a kid. Heck, I might do it this year for my 35th. lol! I really enjoy reading your blog. Hope Scout has a happy 3rd!

I like the McD idea. We did have Sarah's party at the park in the begining of November and it was great! I didn't even have to get the house ready for guests!!!! But being the end of December, it would be too cold. But you never know being in Texas! heehee :) I have the castle cake mold if you want to borrow it.

people totally do McDonalds still. Plus you can let the kids run wild in the play area.

If you want to go all out, Museum of Nature & Science does birthday parties.. and, I think the Zoo might as well (maybe even during the winter?).

Alll I have to say about the chinchilles or how ever you spell those animals name is remember when auntie Shay tried to pick up them in your old classroom, and they screamed and you just looked at me and said "hmmmm they have never made that sound before." Those things are tricky guys...
